The following group of photographs was taken on the A. K. (Augustus Kirby) Barnum farm. Barnum was an early land speculator in Minnesota with connections to the White Bear Lake area.
The highlighted area shown is in White Bear Township. It was owned by my 2nd great-grandfather Charles Peltier and then by his son, my great-grandfather Albert Peltier. As you can see, many of the surrounding parcels of land show A. K. Barnum as the land owner. The following pictures were probably taken somewhere in the 1910s on one of the Barnum properties adjoining the C. I really like your blogs and have been following them. The pics in this one are great! I love the way you enlarged parts of the original picture to highlight and name the persons in the picture. Your enlarged pictures are amazingly sharp. Usually enlarging them makes them fuzzier and harder to see.
As an aside, I know that we have Peltiers and Hus-Pauls in our Felix/Peloguin family tree. When I talked to you at the Little Canada Historical Soc, you seemed to recognize our ancestor, Felix Peloquin, born 1701 in Quebec. My cousin Connie and I would love to talk with you abt information you provided in one of your talks at Hugo, MN I believe. The info was related to Quebec records.
