Circa 1943 – Shown left to right: Lillian Auger, Tom Berg, Gladys (Bloom) Berg and Frances Auger
When the picture was taken, Gladys, my first cousin once removed, was about 32 years old and her son Tom, my second cousin, was about 4 years old.  Gladys was the oldest child of Vina (Peltier) and Howard Bloom.  She married Walter Berg on October 23, 1934.
April 30, 1930 – Forrest Estep Riley (left) and Margaret Mary Vadnais (middle) wedding photo. Best man George Vadnais (standing) and maid of honor Jewel Heckel (right).
At the time the picture was taken, Forrest was 23 years old, Margaret was 18 years old and George was 20 years old.  Margaret Vadnais, my first cousin once removed, was the eldest of William and Rachel Vadnais’ children.  George Vadnais is my uncle and Jewel Heckel is the daughter of William Heckel.
Circa 1957 – Charles and Florence (Doran) Vadnais, both about 45 years old, with 2 of their children: Steve (left) and Tim (right).  Steve is about 6 years old and Tim is about 5 years old.
Many of you know that I do volunteer work for the White Bear Lake Area Historical Society (WBLAHS).  About 6 months ago I stumbled upon a bunch of slides that had not yet been accessioned into their archive.  I began looking through them and found that there were many related to Pete and Helen Bacon and as I got further into the stacks I found a number of slides related to White Bear Oil Company (where Pete worked) and the Vadnais family.  This is one of the pictures from that bunch of slides.  I believe they were all taken by Pete Bacon.

Thanks for visiting, come back soon,
Cynthia
