The current exhibit at the White Bear Lake Area Historical Society, “Bears Building Community, How the 1920s Shaped Our Community Today” is a must see. The Adlore and Ellen Vadnais family business, White Bear Oil Company, is featured in the exhibit with pictures, text and artifacts from the company. It includes a recently taped interview with our eldest cousin Jerry talking about the business (he’s on the monitor in the 3rd picture). White Bear Oil Company played an instrumental part in the development of White Bear Lake. It is well worth the effort to go see the exhibit.
