Tis the season!

The names on the back read: Mary Greengard and Mary Lou Wickworth. Only 2 of the 3 are identified. I assume they are Aunt Anna Mae’s girlfriends.

The 3 girls in the top row to the right of Santa are (left to right): Karen Vadnais, Susan Vadnais and Patty Vadnais. The boy is unidentified. Of course we all expect Santa at a Christmas Party, but I am unfamiliar with the Christmas clown.

Back row (left to right): Bob Parker, Guy Green, Dick Vadnais, Florence O’Neil Smith, Tom Whitrock and George Vadnais.
Middle row (left to right): Marguerite Parker, Bev Vadnais, Mona Green, Martha Vadnais, Leona Whitrock
Seated row (left to right): Jack Vadnais, Anna Mae Campbell, Gordy Vadnais, Florence Vadnais & Fran Vadnais
Front seated on floor: Bob Campbell and Berta Vadnais
The only one not present is Charles Vadnais. He had passed away in 1989.

Our gifts from Santa were always opened Christmas morning. We would wake up to presents under the tree for us to sort through and each of us had a Christmas stocking draped over a chair in the living room. It was classic for each of our stockings to have a candy cane, a giant Washington State apple, a huge navel orange from Florida and mixed nuts in the shell. Fruit was a valued treat since there wasn’t a lot of fresh fruit during the winter months.

I recently visited with one of my father’s first cousins (there are only 2 left) and while looking through pictures we came across this meat pie recipe. The Grandma Peltier referred to in the recipe is my great-grandmother Celestine Peltier. The only seasoning used is sage and the lard crust uses baking soda instead of baking powder.
Happy Holidays!
Thanks for visiting, come back soon,
Cynthia

Uncle Clem’s JoAnn?
Yes.
What nice holiday memories. Love the Barbie Dreamhouse and vinyl Barbie case. We also got those from Santa. We always heard about great grandma’s meat pie and dinner at the farm. Thanks so much.
Love that the recipe shows to use course ground pork butt, as recently discussed with some cousins 😋
